Steam Sweepers Rug Cleaning was established in 1996. We are approaching our third- decade anniversary. Three decades ago, my father, Art, started the craft-art practice of cold water immersion washing, a centuries-old process, of rug cleaning here in Bellingham. We now service Mt Vernon, Skagit County, Island County, San Juan Islands and the Vancouver BC metropolitan. Our Oriental rug pick-up services reach all the cities in our corner of the northwest.

Steam Sweepers Rug Cleaning is officially a second- generation small business. As of January 1, 2022, my father, Art Thomas, handed down the daily operations/ownership to me, Bryan Thomas. My Dad is still involved in the family- business as a consultant and mentor. After being raised in this specialty industry of immersion rug washing I am enthusiastic in being part of the generational curve with Steam Sweepers Rug Cleaning LLC.

More recently, I have focused on building our abilities in rug repairs. The most common repairs are sides and ends of hand knotted rugs. We also repair the binding of machined- area rugs. We are fortunate to have a highly experienced rug weaver we work with locally. In the small world of fine rug cleaning and repairs wisdom is earned through years of experience, one rug at a time!
