We had the honor of washing this rare, antique rug at our facility. Mohtasham Kashan rugs are the rarest of rugs handwoven in the city of Kashan. These rugs are named for the rug weaver, Mothasham, who is credited with developing the technique that this rug was woven. We estimate that this rug in particular was woven in the mid 1800s. Our cold-water immersion washing technique allows for the special care and attention that an antique rug like this requires.

Tony's rug collection was unfortunately affected by Bellingham flood waters. Thankfully, we were able to get to all 31 rugs quickly after Tony used our emergency rug pick up service. We were able to properly remove all excess water before washing and treating each rug with moth prevention. After a quick turnaround time, we are able to conveniently deliver clean and dry rugs back to Tony.
